The refined "Fantini by Farnese” wines are made with the best-selected grapes coming from the Farneto Valley and other important estates in Abruzzo; they complete their aging process in the beautiful cellars of the Caldora Castle, a historical building that the company wished to renovate in order to safeguard the cultural heritage and the viticultural tradition of the territory of Ortona. A team of talented young winemakers and agronomists, headed by two internationally renowned super-consultants, constantly dedicate their work to the care of each production phase. The attention of the company to the smallest details has brought the Fantini wines towards new horizons of quality: for the top wines, for example, a double and rigorous selection of the single grapes is carried out, believing that only the best berries can be transformed into great wines.

"People can’t be bothered by all the hype and nonsense of wine. They just want to drink it." ~John Casella.
It all started in 1820, when the first Casellas planted some vines in the Italian countryside. Two things sprouted shortly thereafter: a cluster of grapes, and a family passion that would last 188 years and counting.
Fast forward to 1957. Filippo and Maria Casella were keeping the business alive in Italy, when they decided to pack up and move to Australia. However far away, they couldn’t escape their wine roots. Filippo began selling grapes to local wineries. Then in 1969, he decided it was time for a new generation of Casellas to put their winemaking skills to use.
Following the blueprint of other Australian winemakers, Casella sourced his fruit from other growing areas throughout South Eastern Australia, creating wines with incredible freshness and character year after year. Still, almost a third of the grapes used for [yellow tail] are grown right in the Casella family’s vineyards, nearly 540 acres in the Riverina region of Australia. In 1994, the Casellas built a new and improved winery, blending old world heritage with new world technology.
Year after year, the Casella family continues to create quality wine that’s fun, flavorful, and bursting with a personality all of its own.
Casella Family Brands – Led by Managing Director, John Casella, the company was propelled to the forefront of the export arena in mid-2001 by its hugely successful [yellow tail] brand. Arriving in Australia in 1957 and with a family history of winemaking dating back to 1820, John’s father, Filippo Casella recognised the great potential of the Riverina region in New South Wales. In 1965, he bought land near the township of Yenda outside of Griffith in New South Wales, and grew grapes for local winemakers. Grape growing became wine making, and wine making needed a winery, so in 1969 the Casella family winery was born. Today Casella Family Brands is producing a wide range of wines from the finest grape growing regions of Australia.
